Any real way to drill down and establish just how many of the package you have were built?

Example, I have have decoded my 70 bee its in the registry and I know there were only 1000 built in my color Plumb crazy but how do you establish (or can you?) the balance N96 ram air, 4 speed, black buckets, black vinyl top and bee tail stripe?

I really would not care if not for the fact its a numbers matching correct car, more curiosity then anything. I would assume mine is low, how orders a 4 speed tach delete.

Congratulations on having a very rare and desirable car!
Good luck breaking down the figures.

Perhaps Galen Govier's company can help you.

69 Coronet R/T. 7500 in various configurations. Not rare. Pleasure is all in the right foot.

Thanks guys, it would appear Govier is no longer accepting these types of requests. I know its 1K in this color and I guess we leave it at that.

Last I heard, GG had switched to selling used cars. I don't know if he will ever go back to what he was doing for the hobby.

As for the data, it was never broken down quite as good as it should have been. Of course, they were not thinking of preserving the data for so many years for us, so we should be thankful that any of it lasted at all like it did. The best that can be done is to document actual known cars with those options and compare vs what the factory data had down. It is not perfect, but can give a clue on how many were actually built. In some instances, more cars are now known than were factory built with that particular combo. (Ask corvette owners how many factory L88s were built in 1968 versus those that are currently known to exist for an example of this situation.)...

1969 Dodge Coronet RTs are fairly rare because not many were saved back in the day. They may have a large production number, but how many do you actually see in a search? I have only one of them (440, auto, ram air in blue) in my stash of projects, compared to three second gen Charger RTs which are easier to find (more of them were saved because of the Charger body style). That is from over twenty plus years of car collecting, starting back before the B-J mania era....
