I am wanting to swap my leaf springs and torsion bars for coil overs. I know there may be some welding involved, and use of 4 link in the rear. I like the setup for daily driving, but am more interested in shedding some extra weight and adjustability for the track. Also wondering if it would give more tire clearance as my tires currently sit extremely close to the leafs. Has anyone done this and what are some problems I may run into? Thanks for any helpful advice!

If you look a little closer the tires set real close to the inner wheel wall also.

I'm sorry I should have went into more detail. It is close to the wheel wheel well. I forgot to mention it's getting mini tubbed to accommodate larger slicks. If I keep the leafs the tires will rub when I let air out to race. i could do a relocation kit, but if I'm going to get into that much work I might as well do away with the outdated suspension all together.

May be out dated but if setup right it works and do not have to butcher the car either.

That's true, but I'm wanting more adjustability on and off the track. Im already cutting the car to pieces for a mini tub and different modifications.
