I have decided to part with my Stage 3 426 wedge motor and accessories. I obtained this engine from an old superstock racer in southern California. He had it stored inside in a closet since the early 70s. It hasn't seen the light of day since last year when I purchased it(I didn't "steal" it, BTW. He knew what he had)
His goal was to build up a new 426 for the next season of racing, but life intervened and it remained stored for decades.
It is a complete, standard bore 426. Original heads, crossram, carbs, etc. Vintage fenderwall headers and race pan. No air cleaners or factory exhaust manifolds(sadly they were mistakenly tossed). Many other goodies will be included(gaskets, linkages, distributors, etc). A once in a lifetime find. My goal was to find a suitable car and build a superstock clone. I have been busy with other Hemi projects and reluctantly will be letting this engine go. I know this thread is worthless without pics. I will post pics on Saturday as I need to spread everything out and take photos. This stuff is in fantastic condition.
Asking 10.5 for everything.

Yes pics would be good plus a serious buyer will be asking for numbers off the block plus much more i am sure just curious what parts of So-Cal cause i grew up in Torrance Ca..

Yeah, pics are vital. I'll have them by Saturday as the motor is at my other garage.
The gentleman I purchased it from raced super stock in the 60s,early 70s and lived in Garden Grove. It was just one of those things-his life changed and all the Stage bits he acquired for the upcoming season were never used.

I had a few pics in my phone. Many more detailed pics on Saturday

You must Post either an Asking Price or Make offer with a BIN Price. (We prefer you post an asking price)

Jim - he has 10.5 ($10,500.) listed in his post for the price.

Interesting - the casting date on my 426 SW block is 10-11-62 - one day before yours. Good luck with your sale.

Ah - Goldencommando is a faster typist than I am!

That is pretty cool. Yes, the price was in the post. Interesting that the block may be Stage 2, guess we'll know for sure when I post detailed pics of everything tomorrow.

Mine has a '64 assembly date - even with the early casting date, so that early date doesn't mean it isn't a III. Your stamp pad should tell more of the story.

Is it just me noticing there is no factory cut bore notch for the exhaust valves? My 62 MW block has bore notches.

I had a chance to take some pics today of most of the engine and components. The parts were all wrapped in newspapers from the 70s. Haven't been touched since then. Its all been wrapped up since I purchased it last year. The block appears like its been bored and looks fresh, cam bearings installed, etc.
