I don't know if this subject has been covered before but I'm contemplating changing the exhaust on my 1964 Dodge Polara 500. The car does not have it's original motor. It currently has a 1969 383 hp with factory exhaust manifolds and 2 1/2" dual exhaust. It also has electronic ignition, Weiand dual plane intake manifold, & Holley 635 cfm vacuum secondary carburetor. I have been looking at the TTI 1 3/4" headers and 3" X-Pipe dual exhaust, but it is very expensive. Do you guys think it is worth the money. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Does anyone have a link where any of the magazines have tested different exhausts.

Unless you are planning on racing, let it alone, you're money could be better spent elsewhere.

I agree with all above but the TTI's sure are nice

It depends a lot on the car and what you want to do with it. Headers will make a little more power and make the exhaust sound a little better, but only you can decide if it's worth the time and money. TTI's are really nice but like you said, they are pricey.

TTI's stuff is pricey, but IT FITS and FIT/FINISH/QUALITY ARE AWESOME! All I had to do on my 65 w/440 was drop the center link and starter. Didn't have to jack up the engine for the units to clear even with p/s. They clear the steering linkage, trans etc. I didn't even have it on a lift for the install, just jack stands. Other companies pipes hang down where you will surely kang them on speedbumps, hazards, driveway dips etc. Just my 2c and personal experience.

I have the full TTI exh system also and its worth every penny to me. It fit like a glove with no problems at all. Ron
