I sold a 70 440 Challenger RT ragtop to a buddy of mine that did the same thing. I knew he flipped cars but he said it was a keeper and would never sell it but if he did sell, he would give me first 'dibs' too and he did but, he immediately painted it a different color (it was plum crazy, white interior and white top), put in a black interior and top then then wanted 5 times what he paid for the car and didn't even touch the 100k drive train and to top it off, he did all of that in less than 2 months. After that, I've never sold a car with expectations of ever getting it back again and have only sold one other car to someone I knew.I had the '68 equivalent at one time. White with red bumblebee stripe, red interior. Bought it from the original owner.
Sadly, had to sell it during tough times a dozen years or so ago. Killed me to do so.
Buyer promised to allow me first dibs if he ever wanted to sell.
He lied.
Car wound up sold off eBay and shipped to the south Pacific, I kid thee not.
What an *** he turned out to be.
Love your car. When they get to that point of restoration, they become a lot of fun.
Finish it!
