street use or track car ..I'm looking for street car is this too much for street car maybe see track couple times a year .. read a couple place 493 sort of on the edge engine

How are we going to know? Depends upon your definition of "street car". Fuel economy would suck but it should be fun to drive. Why don't you drive it and see if it is your kind of street car.

some is good more is better too much is just rite i live for that

My definition of a street motor is it runs on pump gas and makes power at whatever rpm I cruise at. Does it do that?

A LOT of guys here running 500 plus cubes in their street cars. Depends how you're going to use it as the others have stated. For a lot of highway driving I'd find those 3:91's a bit much personally but again that's a change you can make down the road

The converter might be a bit much, but some 'spensive converters can flash high like that and still drive perfectly normally on the street. Only way to tell is to drive it.

I run 4.10's on my belvedere and LOVE them, but I have a 30" tire and the farthest I go is maybe 20 miles each way with the family to a really good ice cream shop (worth it!).

yeah thats mine also..,,converter a bit to much helps...........use it on the street at cruise nights 20/ 30 mile drive ..track couple times a year thats my street car thought ..don't want a car with bad manners ( had those before pain in the a$$) is this a lot of cam for the street................ the car is 200 miles away so I can't just jump in it ..just thought I'd ask if anyone had or knew of a similar set up..

lift is no way to tell how a cam will be on the street; duration is the key. Does it run on pump gas?

The cam being .564 lift makes it a possibility of being a Comp XE295HL 251/257 @ .050, .564/.564 lift 110 LSA

Comp calls it like this: 3000-6500 rpm, serious street and bracket race cam, 10:1 compression, lower gears, headers and 3500+ stall.

The next smaller cam, 2500-6200 rpm, the XE285HL, 241/247 @ .050", .545"/.545", is supposed to have a "rough idle".

Whadaya suppose this XE295HL has for idle characteristics?

It's a major investment. Go drive it.

My 63 is a street car I drive all the time with my 493 in it. I use an 850 Holley DP with the Indy dual plane intake and a Dynamic 9.5 street/strip converter. I run a solid flat tappet thats 264 & 270 @ .50 with .585 and .592 lift but I use 1.6 Hughes rockers. It drives great and makes power at any rpm on the street and it works nice at the track as I only ever use pump gas and I race it as I drive it through the full exh. Ron

As long as the compression/cam allow pump gas - go for it. I have a 4k stall and it drives beautifully...forget fuel economy. But you're not buying this for fuel economy, right?
