I am looking to buy a set of Weld ProStars for my '68 Charger. They only offer 5.5 or 4.5 bs. I want to run a 29x12 or 30x12 tire, and heard a 5.5 bs rubs the springs. Is anyone running a set up close to this and can tell me if this would fit?

Well, I have a set of OLD Centerline 15"x10" wheels with 4-1/2" (or 4-5/8"?) backspacing with 50-series tires on them & I had to "roll the fenders" so they clear.... and they're still close.... so close that I bought some 15"x8" wheels and swapped the tires over. My 50's are right at 12" sidewall-to-sidewall with 10-1/2" actual tread.

4.5" bs will hit the quarters for certain. There is a good chance that 5.5" would rub on the inner wheelwells when turning and going up/down an incline, but you could always ad spacers to compensate.

I just asked what would fit for the rear of my 69 Bee...I was told 295/50/15 on 15X10 with 5.5 backspace

Thanks for your help guys. Because my choice is limited by Weld to 4.5 or 5.5 bs, I think I'm going to order 5.5 bs and then shim it out.

If you were thinking of a disk brake conversion for the rear that would space out the wheels .25-.5
