No.... they are ONLY welded at the underneath area of both rear framerails. I will say this, they are normally factory welded extremely well, from the ones my brother and I have taken out. If the removal process has to be done from laying on your back, prepare for a lot of die grinder metal shrapnel, and dirt, so wear some very good eye protection, and a respirator. We normally remove the whole rear substructure, then work on things looking down. Good luck, with whatever you decide.
