Just joined a few minutes ago. I have a '68 Coronet 500 convertible w/318 that has been in the family since day one. My uncle bought it new after he came back from Vietnam. He sold it to his dad and I bought it and drove it from PA to CA about 20 years ago. I've replaced the seats and carpet when I got it. Unfortunately being from PA, there is some rust here and there.

I had some health/medical issues that forced me to park it (and my '69 Firebird 400) for 10 years. Just a few days ago I got it running again after replacing points/condenser/rotor. Borrowed a battery from my Firebird and fired it up. It stalls when I try to get it moving faster, so I need to rebuild the carb.

I spent a couple of years in Atwater 1979 through 1981 at Castle AFB.
Great little town that I will always have very fond memories of!

Thanks! I was at Castle from 1986 to 1999. Went to King Salmon AK for my last year and came back to Atwater and got married.

Hey, Howyadoin, welcome. I was at Castle as well, Boom school in 81. Stationed there from 89-shutdown, then Travis AFB 01-15. I have no love for CA. get out while you still can!

I agree. The only good thing about the location is I'm close to Yosemite and my inlaws are close here too (yes I like them). My wife would love to move to Texas.
 
Hey Mike, I live in Catheys Valley ( Mariposa County ) just up the hill from you... I have 68 Coronet 2 dr HT same color as your car..

I work Construction with a guy from Atwater...he is familiar with the Foster Farms chicken joint on 99. Been there? This guy works in Esparto right now... He has to be up at 2:30 to be at work at 6:00 !
The Central Valley feeds the state and the nation. Lots of good people through there.
I travel through there a few times a year on the way to Arizona or Van Nuys for their Mopar shows, I go to the San Joaquin Valley Mopars show in the fall sometimes too.
