Hello fellas! I've attached a pic of the Rt side front brakes on my '68 Road Runner.
Does this setup look right? In my factory 1968 parts book, it shows an adjustment lever along with the cable, adjustment screw and guide for the front drum brakes. Instead, I have this wide spring and adjustment screw. Are front shoes just not self adjusting?

My 66 Satellite has the same, no self adjusters. I don't know why no self adjusters.

HD suspension coded cars came with the non self adjusters. That is the correct setup...

Sure simplify things.
Could someone tell me what the largest rear drum brake size would be for a car? has finned drums ...possibly 11"X 3" ?............................MO

On a 68 RR I always that that the std drum brakes were 11x3 up front and 11x2.5 on the rear.

Those were considered cop brakes, that were mounted up. Could be had, special order, or the rears were self-adjusting. Most of the drum brakes could be either, depending on the hardware used.
Self-adjusting brakes, as far as I know, are only on the rears...because, they self-adjust when the brakes are 'hit', in reverse only. That's how they work.

Yes and they came standard with the HD suspension coded cars like RT's, 440's, 426's....like I said above....

Kinda wrong if I'm reading all this correctly-11x2-1/2 rears, manual adjusters all around for HD suspension. Still have/use mine; AND to get a good adjustment with self adjusters you need to pound the pedal 3-4 times while rolling in reverse.
