Question for you body guys. I was perusing the inter-webs looking for 67 Coronets with original dark green paint, when I came across this gem. My only beef with the 67 is the rear quarter panel and the lack of space for any decent size tire. I almost crapped my pants when I saw this car. I do not have a numbers matching car, so I'd have no issues doing this. Does anyone know if a 67 Charger rear quarter panel will fit on a Coronet? Was this more than likely a custom fabrication? Has anyone seen this done.

Its like I saw the light and heard the angels sing. It makes the car perfect.

Jim Rodebaugh of Oklahoma built a one-of-none Hemi Charger convertible maybe 20 years ago now, using Charger quarters on a '67 Coronet body. They look like they belong there.

If I had enough ambition,I would DEFINITELY do it. Looks bad asssss. You would need the wheel housing too.

good luck finding decent rear quarter panels for a 66 or 67 Charger

Here's one from another forum that I belong too been staring at max for a long time

I disagree- it think the character lines of the quarter and rear wheel opening MAKE the attitude of the 66/67 Coronet body style.

Prob just me, but the radius does not bug me, but what drives me nuts is the miss matched arch lips.

you would think after all that work they would have made the arch lip the same width.

Its perfect as is, please don't cut it! Send it to me, and restore another with charger guards :)

Looks like they both used the same vendor's panel, which has both an incorrect lip stamp width and angle of top lip surface.

I personally LOVE all the angles that come together in front of the wheel on 66/67 Coronets.

I like Chargers, too, but one of the reasons I've owned five 66/67 Coronets and zero Chargers is that quarter panel...and the roof line.

Again I like Chargers, but that Coronet roof line does something for me, just like the quarter.

...and on the top pic, the R/T badges are mounted incorrectly...all three of them.

Different strokes I reckon...I think the rear end looks badass. After looking at the picture though, the different fender lips do drive me a little nuts. Love the idea though.

I would never cut a pair up to make them like a Charger, I like both ways. My car was like that when I got it back in 1982 and fell in love with the look it had.

There is a guy on here that posted a thread in the general tech section, the thread is titled quarter panels. The guy named Joe Phillips is hand fabricating rear quarters for 66,67 b bodies including Charger and Coronet panels. I bet he could make Coronet panels with Charger wheel well openings that could be installed in one piece, instead of piecing them together. His panels look amazing. They are worth a look wether or not you are modifying the wheel well.
