You've got to get on this 8-track bandwagon with me.

my '69 r/t has a factory 8-track. haven't tried it in decades. put an 8-track in my '68 road runner back in the day.

The first non performance mod we did on customers cars as well as our own, was an underdash 8-track unit... many times on a slide-out bracket. Pair of round speakers in the kick panels & 6x9 Jensens on the shelf. Of the gazillion tapes I blasted away back in the day, I only have Master of Reality, Volume 4, and Billion Dollar Babies left. And, my home Wollensak 8075A the best 8-track player made. I now have a NOS Spark-O-Matic player under dash of my RR.

I had a guy in Colorado go thru my Pioneer . Cleaned and new belt . Also added a 1/8 plug so I can run any device with a headphone jack through it. Got a eight track from the Possum that stays in tape slot. This guy is the Guru on car 8 track players. http://barrys8trackrepair.com/
vid of his work and how much better they sound afterwards.

I have no problem with the sound of my new 8 tracks. Yes about 10% of the ones I buy don't work properly. I am talking quantity not quality here. I find 8 track lots and buy them for cheap. My point is I am getting a bunch of albums for next to nothing. This morning I'm listening to Cream. Would I ever had this album in my collection? Never. I even got a soundtrack for the Good the Bad and the Ugly. It's just fun to hear all this old stuff.

Am I a cheap bastard, yes.

Now, if only I didn't throw out all those l.p.'s and 8-tracks many years ago, I could've sold them to Steve. :D
