I was wondering if it's okay to jack up the front of the B-Body from under the K-member? Going to put it up on jack stands and thought it would be better to bring up both sides at the same time, as it's a convertible. Any thoughts on this? Thanks

That will work just fine,if the "K" is all purdy, use a piece of wood between the jack & the "K",it will also help gain some height if need be:eusa_think::happy7:

The OEM manual for a 73 Dodge specifically advises against placing the jack anywhere on the underbody other than the lower control arms or the rear differential housing. It's such a pain in the butt cramming both a jackstand and floor jack in the same general locations. I think I'll jack from the K member as well.

I have used the K member on my 69 b body probably a hundred times by now without issue.

I usually do one control arm, jack stand, then the same for the other side.

K member is the thing that looks like a cradle where all the oil from the filter runs when removed right?

When I did my front brake swap on my 70 Satty convertible I jacked it up from the k frame then added jack stands. No problem at all.

just make sure to chock the wheels. had a 4 speed car slip off the jack(backwards) and that was the end of the radiator.

Been using floor jacks on k members for a long time now. Never lost one. Always made sure part of the lift pad of the jack caught the back edge of the k member.

Don't like a block of wood on a floor jack. Shakey at best. I will use a large block of wood under the jack if need be. Much more stable.

If that is their recommendation, they can eat my ***. Jacking up from a LCA ??? What kind of jerkoff thinks that makes any sense??
