I have a 1964 Plymouth fury I just bought it's hood doesn't close all the way on the passenger side. I was told this may be the springs. How could I confirm that? Also no new hood springs or hinges are advertised for my year (1964) b body. I'm afraid if I buy used hood springs they could easily he worn out too. How can I go about fixing my problem?

I tried adjusting hinges it but it still doesn't help, the placement of hood hinges seem to be correct/normal.

Make sure all of the pivot points on the hinges are lubed and there is always the possibility the hinges are worn.

I'm gonna post some pictures son when I get home but I've lubed the hinges extremely well... that was my first thought. All pivot points have been greased and injected with various lubricants (tool oil, atf, spray silicone, triflon) in an effort to get my hood to close right. All pivot points should be moving freely. The "teeth" on the hinges seem to not be worn out at all, actually in good shape. What do you mean when you say the hinge could be worn out, specifically what part of these hinges wear out first? Which area should I inspect for damage or wear.

I'm thinking I could potentially switch the hood springs (swap left/right) to see if the problem moves with the springs?

Here are photos. Hinges are not visibly worn and I can’t feel any play with them. Pivots are fully lubed. When I push down on side that stick up it goes down but won’t stay. The picture with my hand in it vs. the pic below it shows what I’m talking about. I took pictures of both hinges for comparison

Just needs adjusted. After I put my hood on it was the same way. It seem to me to get the back to go down you need to raise the front of hinge. I noticed yours is all the way down. Try raising just the front and see if it helps. It seems backwards but that's how it works. Do a google search on the exact adjustment procedure. I believe Resto Rick may have it posted on his site.

What you said about raising the front may be the ticket. I was actually thinking to try that for some reason but I haven't gotten around to it yet. I will try to properly adjust it and get back to you. I have the manual but it's not very in depth for hood adjustment.

Here you go. This is from Resto Rick's site in the archive body section. Hope it helps. Yes its for the E-B body but they're all the same basically.

A common alignment problem on E-body & 71-up B-bodies is the rear edge being up too high with the hinges being adjusted all the way down on the inner fender.
This is an adjustment problem! Start by moving the hinge up on the inner fender. (yes, up!)
Then, loosen the 2 rear bolts and leave the front bolt snug. Now lift the hood to make the hinge rotate (as viewed from the side). Retighten the rear bolts and check the fit. This procedure will get that tail to come down. Adjust the front-to-rear dimension on the hood side bolts.
It can be frustrating and take some time, but these hoods will fit correctly! I’ve installed them with the hood sitting about 2 1/2" above the fender! Within a few minutes it was fitting perfect!

As stated, rotate the front of the hinge up.
