I saw on another post that you have the sales sticker. If it was coded on the sales sticker, that will answer your question.
J55 is what you are looking for. No J55 code.. no hood pad.
Not certain it would be on a window sticker, but it would definitely be on the broadcast sheet (or not). J55 gave you FULL undercoat and a hood pad. You either got both or none!
If you want one DMT makes a nice product...

Interesting discussion as wondered (blindly) about putting one on my '63 that appeared as having one or attachments for it. One post says he tossed his. Sound deadening feature worth it for what? Nice for a quiet Imperial. I have a droptop as it is and noise is well noisy. It can't do much for reducing noise inside the cab and most have loud exhaust anyway...as mine does. Insulation...why? I need no features trapping more heat in the engine bay when I could use another 10-15 drop in temp. Cold weather? How many of us drive our cherry old cars in cold weather? Ok, maybe someone can say I'm all wrong and I'm all ears.
That's an interesting thought about some heat protection for the hood..I always thought the hood insulation was to help protect the hood paint from all the engine heat. Back when I was 18 years old in '78 my 1st car, a 74 Roadrunner, initially had a hood pad but I took it off after A few years. After doing that, the paint on the hood gradually began to dull up and got to were I couldn't wax it anymore without lifting some paint off.
