Hi, I know the heater box (non AC) is the same on -66 and -67 B-body,but will they fit -68 and -69 too ??, If not, what's the differens ?

They are the same 66-70
 
How hard would it be for a somewhat limited flexibility older fella to get one of these out of my GTX?
Mine has a rusted out blend door that popped out of its' pivot to the point I can't use it and I need to get it out
of the car and repaired/replaced.

A pain in the arse!
Remove the seats and you will still need to disconnect the components from inside the firewall including remove 5 nuts that are next to impossible w/o removing the motor.

I'm sure it can be done but look a few of the threads in the ac/heater forum. I have one.
No lies Ed, it's a task and more than a few words that only a sailor would recognize came from my mouth.

Of all the things I've done to my car; motor, tranny, brakes, ect. The removal/overhaul/reinstallation of the heater/ac box was by far the most difficult.

It looked like a chore in the FSM for sure. Thanks for confirming that.
Dangit, not something to trust to the local hack 'em up mechanic either then.

last year i removed mine from 69 roadrunner,eng still in,remove your passenger seat and console,and glove box so you can use your hand to move box around a lot better disconnect everything attached to box,and remove nuts along the firewall a lot of bending and twisting but go slow as i did,it will pop right out,on install i found out easy to slide box in and then raise box up and tilt it in upward position and line up and mine popped right in,its a little work,but i restored mine and put new heater core in and new motor.

i have to disagree that they are the same from 1966-1970. they will all physically bolt in but ones for 1966-1967, the heat blend door arm is opposite the ones used in 1968-1970. there is also a molding change at the defrost tube outlets for the years 1966-1967 to 1968-1970. the heater core is the same from 1966-1969 (5/8 in 5/8 out). 1970 is 5/8 in and 1/2 out.

here they are all lined up. from left to right 1966 to 1970. there you can see the subtle difference by the defroster outlet.

Ed, is your car a/c? If so, yes. Pain in the butt. If non-a/c it isnt bad imho. Console has to come out and seats so you aren't all twisted up un the floorboards.

Nope, no a/c and no console, just the Hurst.
Not up to the task just yet. Perhaps in the spring, Lord willing?

You're halfway there! lol I believe 4 nuts accessible on the engine side of firewall, heater hose connections, one strap nut under the dash, cable connections, heater control and two defrost vents. It will drop out under the dash frame no problem.
