I just put a new Borgeson box, pump and Hydratech booster in my Belvedere.

Unfortunately I find myself in need of a cooler but with my aux. transmission cooler space is a bit tight. Who runs a steering cooler and do you have any pics of how/where you mounted it?

I have a 71 Cuda which was ordered with a 390 rear and the cooler came standard. It is 4 1/2 tall and 2" wide by 1" thick and is mounted to the back of the Saginaw pump. I know last time I saw repro of them they were $350.

This question may not apply to this thread, need your assistance.
How do you know when you need a PS cooler?
I'm planning on upgrading my PS in the future.
Many thanks

Chrysler added it when you ordered a 390 or higher rear. 323 rears didn't get it. They figured higher speed of the pump, because of the rear, needed the cooler

I used this one: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/der-13212

Installed in front of the radiator next to trans cooler at right.

I had an issue with a power steering pump not long after I put the Borgeson unit in a while back, had to replace the pump and also decided to put the cooler in to preempt any possible issues.

I was driving for an extended period at higher speed and the fluid foamed up out of the cap. Trying to figure out what the problem was at the time, possible overheating maybe..?

So far so good with no issues at all.

Fabbed up a bracket and bolted it down for both coolers.
Some guys don't like to put holes where there were none before, I don't really mind as long as it's functional and as you said, clean.

i did same thing as Larrry B. looks like same cooler also although i used some of those push-style zip tie things to secure to my ac condensor when the radiator was out

Go to a motor cycle swap meet and get an oil cooler from an 80ish Harley , mine came of a 82 sportster , right size hose barbs and a bracket with two holes for mounting, don't pay more then $20 and make sure you flush it out good.
