Does the switch go in like the first picture with the plug down, or pic 2 with the plug up?

I'm gonna meet you guys in the middle.. and say the wires go out the left side towards the kick panel. Should be a raised bump that basically duplicates the shape of the switch mounting pattern (at least there is for '69). I stole Justin's pic as his is in the correct spot, as my own I had to move to match my carpet hole.

Up or side to me. I don't like the idea of having your foot pressing on the connector.

It does seem like it is dealers choice. I am thinking of instead of trying to put it in the same place the factory did, I will do some sitting in the drivers seat position experimenting. I am talking about trying to place it where it won't interfere with my foot being in the most comfortable position.

Like I said.. there is a DEFINITE locating pad in the floor pad and it's where it goes, connector pointing West!

What I meant was I know there is a certain way the factory put it in, but at this point in time I would rather put it where I want it. Moving it up , down, or to one side or the other a little won't even be noticeable.
