My personal German favorite is Erwin Rommel a true natural born soldier, outstanding field marshal loved by his soldiers, excellent strategist, the letters he wrote to his wife exemplified in a simple way why he win and loose battles.
 
Interesting article and excellent profiles of some truly great men. Our country has been very blessed to have them serve especially at the time they did. Germany and Japan never stood a chance vs. the leadership demonstrated during the big one!
