Hi everyone, I am getting to the part of hooking up the brakes in my 72 Roadrunner and am having a hard time finding a set up for my car. My car came with power brakes / front discs and I do not know where to start looking for a replacement power booster set up(my power booster is toast with heavy rust). Everything I have found looks to be a replacement for cars with drum brakes and not cars with front discs. All the kits I have found also require modifications to the firewall as well. To complicate matters, I used a right stuff conversion on the back brakes and will likely need a different proportioning valve but that is a secondary problem. I was hoping someone on here has done something similar and can recommend a power booster that will plug right in. I have no problem going OEM (preferred actually) but again, I'm having trouble finding an OEM style replacement. Any help you guys can give would be much appreciated!

Just went through this on my current E-body project, and did it for my 72’ RR/GTX, find a decent used Midland Ross booster, send it to Booster Dewy for rebuild and re-plating.

He does great work, send yours and have it rebuilt ... booster and Master Cylinder

Thanks, I called and talked to Booster Steve yesterday and I am going to get it in the mail this weekend. I talked to him for 25 minutes and he is a really cool guy and super knowledgeable. Thanks for the contact yall, this helped me out a lot!

edit* mine was not as bad as I thought it was when I cleaned it up. The pitting that I have on mine s right underneath the master cylinder so it wont really be seen. I would rather have the original look with cad plating and small pitting than paint it black. Something about the gold that just stands out so nice in the engine bay in my opinion.

I just got the picture from Booster Steve today and I have to say that I am super impressed! While I have not used the booster yet, I highly recommend them if you want to have yours restored and rebuilt. They are some of the nicest people I have talked to and I would be glad to send them another if I needed it done.

Here is a before & after:

Received my E-body unit back recently as well, it looks pretty too. I see they are still using that reproduction check valve. Had a strange rattle like noise from under the dash on my ’72 RR/GTX initially. At idle, went away with brake application, traced it to that valve making a loud fluttering type noise at idle. Ended up swapping it out for an original NOS check valve to stop the noise.

Thanks for the tip! I still have my original one before I sent it in so I may just change it out so I don't have to worry about it .
