Pentastar 3.6

Sure it's never going to pull heavy loads like a hemi, I've owned both, but for the average person, it's gets it done. I enjoy people pulling up along side of me at a light and just give it enough that they can never pull passed me. My 200 has a rear spoiler and a Bentley grill, which I put on. It looks great to me. Best 22,000 I ever spent.

It's dirty in the these pictures, but you get the idea. If you look you'll see a hellcat emblem on it. My future son in law gave me hell about it, but I figured Chrysler discontinued it and now I can call it what I want!! Stupid I know, it really started as a joke to aggravate him. I just never took it off. LOL

The low gears in a modern 8 speed automatic are a pretty good replacement. :)
This is also true but I have to say that when I drove a Unlimited Rubicon I was underwhelmed to say the least. Thing had the balls of a hamster. Those big jeeps would benefit from a couple of more slugs moving up and down.. Why-o-why did they ever saddle up a 3.6 in a vehicle that weighs over 4000 lbs. with 2 transmissions. If I ever own one a 5.7 swap would be the first order of business. The tune of a V8 is music to my ears anything less is.. well less IMO

When you need torque there's No replacement for displacement.. proven fact

Actually, some of these newer engines have several things that could be considered to be just that.

1- variable valve timing. It's like having a selection of several different cams installed at the same time.

2- multi-air intakes, changing the path of the air based on throttle and RPM is again, like having at least two different intake manifolds, one for top end another for low end torque.

3- the ever more present turbocharger. That one definitely fits the bill for a replacement for CID

4- the many speed trans also helps keep the engine in it's peak torque range.

My 2015 Renegade has all four.

Another interesting fact about the 1.4T concerning torque is that the factory rated torque peak is not a single RPM point, but a range, and it's pretty broad.

That vehicle weighs the same as a 72/73 Duster and that 1.4 has the same HP and TQ as a 360-2!
