Have you done this to your car ?We all want something. You are asking for someone to take several minutes to sit down and make a drawing to show you how to do something?
Oval out the mounting holes and slide the bumper back. S I M P L E.
Again thanksYes. I've done it to several. There was a time when guys didn't have web forums, they just jumped in and figured out stuff for themselves. I'm sure that you are able to do that.
I do NOT have any experience with the 3rd gen Chargers so unless they have some really strange bracketry, my idea should work. Cars of the early to mid 70s had bumpers that stood off of the body with an ugly gap. Slotting the mounting brackets allows some adjustment, cutting and sectioning out is a deeper involved modification but if you are looking to close the gaps, that is another way to go.
I'm capabled of the work I'm a machinist I was just trying to get a feel for what it intales. I work on my car I was just trying to be specific to my year if you've never own a 73 or 74 in some ways they are quite diffrent.Yes. I've done it to several. Thank you this is exactly what I was looking for in a post another guy sent pics of how he did the top I appreciate every one helping. You don't need to move the headlights frame back, just trim out the headlight fillers IF REALLY necesary due the tipically contracted fillers. 71/72 headlights are at the same location with bumpers closer to body with standard grilles. Only change on headlights position is when 71/72 were hideaways, which got shorter headlights mount to get a larger gap to the doors.
I modified the bracket instead of cutting into the fender. that way I could use the original holeThank you this is exactly what I was looking for in a post another guy sent pics of how he did the top I appreciate every one helping.

I was thinking the same thing I'd rather slot the bracket at least it's hidden.I modified the bracket instead of cutting into the fender. that way I could use the original hole
Love the color comboI have done it to my 73 Charger. I slotted the front bumper brackets, and I used a 72 rear bumper assembly to move in the rear bumper. View attachment 829585View attachment 829586 View attachment 829587
