there is a 3wire bracket on the drivers side kick panel , a red wire, and two other wires coming off of it. i have electric windows and convertible top on my 67 r/t, and i don't know what they do, because it it not shown in my shop manual. i was wondering if it was for electric door locks or electric windows...or for the convertible top? is the red wire hot all the time?

Do you have a photo? Under the dash near the drivers kick panel should be a power window safety relay (only allows windows to operate with key on power?)
Behind the kick panel us the connector for the rear tail lights, fuel sending unit? I don't recall if there is a connector behind the kick panel for the power window wiring going into the drivers door? Same for the power top, not sure if there is a connector at the kick panel?

On my 66, small 3 wire harness from switch to kick panel, then harness back to top motor. Red hot from ameter to circuit breaker in kick, to that small harness . Possibly the windows and top share the breaker. Windows work all the time.

That breaker is for the top motor and the power windows. They are wired "hot" all the time.
