I'm considering buying a pick up truck thats in washington state. I havent checked with shipping companies yet, but would like to have a rough guesstimate of what it may cost to ship it to ohio. Anyone have an idea ? Thanks.
 
I’d say enclosed you’d be talking about $2100. Open transport no idea.
 
paid 750 from colorado to michigan last summer for a 70 duster open transport
 
Go on Ebay, find something similar from the area you are looking at, and check the shipping quotes. They usually have about 5 listed.
 
If you look online for auto transport, many of the companies offer free estimates online. If you wanted to try something different go to U ship and you can submit the haul there for bids.

Some free advice from my own experience. If you do get serious, pay attention to how and when you have to pay for the haul. I would not go with a company that wants complete payment up front. The one I've used repeatedly had me pay a deposit at the time the hauler is scheduled to pick up the vehicle and then pay the balance to the hauler at delivery.

The one time I got sucked into paying up front (after repeated discussions with them on schedule and timing) I quickly found out the company lost motivation to get moving on the haul because they had the money already. After days and days of back and forth and excuses, I finally cancelled with them and then had to fight like heck to get my money back. They were quick to try and hide behind their contract, so read the fine print!

One last thought: transportreviews.com allows you to quickly assess companies you're considering. I found it very helpful.

Was told figure $1 a mile, but think that was enclosed.
