Speaking of the C-17, oldest was in Shanghai last year and saw the Chinese version. The Chinese person with them said "no,no not a copy" ; well my son said it sure looked exactly the same to him. Rotten f_______!

The B-377 wasn't very successful. Only 55 were made. Pan Am started using them in 1949. Northwest, United and BOAC were the primary users.
They had reliability problems and were very expensive to operate. The only way they were profitable was to have the contracts from USPS.
Pan Am put their last one to pasture in 1961.
The 707, DC-8, etc were smaller but faster and much more economical and reliable.

More successful as the Air Force C-97. Of course, our taxes paid the maintenance bill.
