fast & take out food and the virus

FL is number 7 after NY, NJ, CA, MI, WA, and MA.

I don't do well with colds/flu in general.

I almost always get the 7 day both nostrils plugged, lie on the couch and wish for death kind.

Not real sure I want to take a chance on getting something that might put me on a ventilator on top of all that, even if it is a 95 to 5 shot.

I am a poster child for "what are the odds of that" anyway.

Especially if all I have to do is stock up on 3 weeks worth of canned and frozen food (already done), and not go out where other people are (and personally, I won't even be ordering take out food. did that for the last time Monday- Ruby Tuesday's BOGO TOGO 2 full racks of hickory bourbon ribs for $20- can't beat that, but we tipped on what would be the full price).

Unfortunately I'm in IT, so I'm "critical", but I've been on a limited schedule with a fair amount of work from home.

If it lasts more than 3 weeks, I have my painting respirator (N/P-95) and gloves if I absolutely must go out, and a plan to put those purchases in a remote location for 14+ days.

Spain is the new up and coming case count with +8% (5000) since yesterday.
They are now right behind China.

So far, the biggest harm to me has been a missed opportunity to go to a small party last night with the new singer for Molly Hatchet.

Dang, I would have liked to go hang with him.

I was even asked to bring my guitar.

now that some of the mass hysteria has calmed down around here, I can still do my weekly shopping and find what I need. the upside is , there's hardly any traffic and hardly anyone in the stores. I actually feel better about going out with everyone at home.

A Doctor on the radio on Thursday said that you cannot get this twice.

People that are exposed, whether they get full-blown symptoms or not, will develop antibodies to it, which is good because that means a vaccine can be developed.

However, whether those antibodies are enough to prevent you from getting it a second time, will depend on the person's immune system and overall health profile. But generally, if you're exposed or get a vaccine, the chances of you getting the full-blown disease are greatly reduced.

With some other coronaviruses, people's immune response will decline over time. COVID-19 is too new to know if that will happen or if the immune response will remain effective in the long run. So, can you get it if you have the antibodies? Chances are good that you won't, but it could be that over time you will be less protected. Depending on what science learns about the virus, you may need to get the vaccine at regular intervals to keep your immunity up.

Once an effective vaccine is available it will greatly transform our fight against COVID-19, but that is likely many months away.

Many months, or years? This is the third corona virus this century, with SARS in 2002-2003 and MERS in 2017. SARS vaccines were planned for 2004 but still haven't been approved. There is one MERS vaccine that is completing clinical trials right now.

My life style was Basically stay my *** at home with kid anyways ! Fri we would do family dinner for my family and sun my wife's side .
My parents aren't in great shape so my side has been cancelled and my wife's, brothers wife is Prego so that's been cancelled!

So this was the other day a co worker of my wife went to the store and was behind a lady that said she just got here from n y. (That day) decided to get some food for there house here. She was telling the girl how almost everyone on her street was sick and had to leave!!!!!!

People like this are the issue!!! Your in a highly infected area and told to stay inside!
So you load up and go somewhere else to share !!!! We had no cases for awhile till the n.y. people started there vacations!!!!
I personally am not worried about it but I have to be careful because my baby has 3mcc witch could make her have severe issues with any normal cold let alone this crap! Then my parents aren't in great health!!!
People just arn't thinking! Just stay your *** at home let this crap pass !!!

totally depends on the card reader, the card, the account and credit or debit.

...on whether touching the reader is required.

Months. The prior corona virus didn’t cause this kind of pandemonium. They didn’t shut down the world economy. You can bet this time real vaccines are going to,be developed pronto.

...of course you're assuming they can be developed.

I don't think you can arbitrarily assign a timeline, either.

What info to trust or not with all of this is difficult and think staying home is a smart idea since this virus is uncharted territory where it's a learn more by the day. I still work on a large construction site that's been scrambling to react to covid making new rules by the day and many others such as mfg plants are staying open despite their goods not being essential.

I feel for the health care workers who still do their work with shortages of safety supplies they need and even coming into an environment that puts them and their families at risk. And thousands more are coming out of retirement to help - older people! Kudo's to these folks! It's obvious many fellow Americans have the passion for helping others and I view respecting the alerts to thwart the spread as a helping hand to them to better deal with the flood of sick people. This virus is spread by people who don't know they have it and read that older people may be more vulnerable not because of a weaker immune system; but a stronger one! A reason why younger people are less vulnerable as older folks have developed immunity from all sorts of bugs being around longer. This virus does more damage or worse, as it was explained, as the body tries to combat the bug with people having built up more immunity from other illnesses! Now don't know how true this is; but just another testament to how much all the experts are still trying to learn. And as a geezer if I get it, I'd like to hope the hospital will be equipped and staffed well enough along with a manageable case load come the time..

Shoot the males first but leave two alive, just in case one gets run over with a car, so the females can have more young ones for you to eat later.
I can never tell if they’re male or not. Their nuts are usually in their mouths.....

You suppose to shake the tree and if you hear nuts rattling you know it's a male!

They said a vaccine is going to be at least a year or more. Then it will mutate itself and they'll have to be on top of that.

Drive thru or curb side food doesn't bother me.
The grocery stores here scare the crap out of me. We still seem to have panic buying . I feel I'm exposed far more going into the store. I ordered my groceries and will pick them up outside from now on

A "vaccine" is always a long term fix for a short term problem. Is it not true that in every flu season (for example) a vaccine happens after the season and is in fact predicting being beneficial for next year's mutation?

What I am hoping for is an effective treatment for those afflicted.

Yes, they are working on next years influenza vaccine now. They almost screwed up a few years ago and didn't pull it off until the last minute.

We're all hoping and praying for a treatment and soon! That's what has a lot of folks in a panic, there's no cure.

Some promising things are coming out with the hydroxychloroquine and Z pac treatment and the plasma transfusions from people who already had the virus.

Historically a "cure" for this stuff comes after the invasion. The lasting cure is the individual immunity built by the afflicted.
I am not attempting to be a professor. (I hate those that profess).
I am just along for this ride as we all are and when stuff comes to mind I sometimes speak about it.

When the fridge and freezer start getting low.. I've already been eyeballing the back yard squirrels and setting the sights. Can't decide on Black or Grey first...
Could be the beginning of 'A Family Tradition'.
"Grampa, tell us about the summer of '20. And please pass the squirrel brains."
