Morning!

Just getting to ready to paint the rust repairs on my 1966 Belvedere Wagon, but the door rubbers (on the doors themselves) are really bad.

Are the rear doors on a sedan the same as on a wagon? RockAuto don't list a wagon separately - I'm looking at their Metro rubbers and RockAuto are brilliant for shipping to England

Thanks in advance!

And some rust pictures for interest:)

Nope.

Sedan rear doors are rounded at the top rear.

Wagon doors are squared.

Seals and windows are different, too.

Technically, it's a separate part that's different- the window frame but they're put together pretty good.
I've never tried to get them apart. I imagine they are welded before the skin is put on.

Thanks for the quick reply! I googled some images and see what you mean - look twice and it is quite a difference in that corner.

I reckon I'll have to go for the 4 door seals and know I'll have to modify them as necessary:(

I'm going to have the same issue.

My guess is that sedan seals are shorter and don't have the square corner.

Hopefully the attachment points line up.

That corner might require a cut and adhesive fix.

...and then maybe a filler piece at the bottom, made from the old seal to account for the length issue.

When they redesigned the wagon uni-body in 71, they started using sedan doors.

WRONG!! 4dr and Wagon doors continued to be different.

As before, the 4dr door is rounded in the upper corner. Wagon is squared off.

I have a window from a 4dr. If you'd like, I can lay it on my wagon's door and show you the huge difference.

As stated, door seals are different between the four door sedans and the wagons for the 66 to 71 year models. The 66 to 67 four door sedans and 68 to 70 four door sedans are unique to themselves. On the 66 to 70 wagon application, the seals are the same.

For the window felt applications, the 66 to 70 four door sedans share similar pieces while the 66 to 70 wagons share similar pieces. Glass channel run kits are unique for 66 to 67 and the 68 to 70 applications, no difference between a four door sedan and wagon.

All of the different profiles and seals are available with the correct molded corners. Hope that this does not confuse things.

And as I stated and showed in pictures, they continued to be different '71 and up.

I stand corrected.

@69bfan

Are you saying 66-70 wagon rear door seals are available?

Yes, the rear door seals for the wagons are available as well as the rear door seals for the four door sedan applications. The front doors for the particular year model ranges are the same whether it be a wagon or sedan, the difference is in the rear doors. The same holds true for the window felts as well. The different door seal kits available for the four door applications are as follows:
A. 66-67 B-Body Four Door Sedan
B. 68-70 B-Body Four Door Sedan
C. 66-70 B-Body Wagon
D. 71-73 B-Body Four Door Sedan
E. 71-73 B-Body Wagon
