My '68 Charger is an original A/C car but EVERYTHING had been removed before I bought it. I found a '68 Coronet with a complete original A/C system. I am assuming everything is the same between the two cars except for the center dash pad but the vents and everything behind the dash should be the same, correct?
The only other thing I would need might be big block brackets as the Coronet is a 318 car.

Good idea? Bad idea? Would buying a new reproduction system be a better way to go?

The underhood lines may be different SB to BB. Look at some photos to compare them. Stay in the 1968 model year. I know the BB compressor and alternator brackets changed for 1969.

The inside box is the same Coronet to Charger.

The underdash is all the same. The underhood does use different compressor brackets from big block to small block and the suction lines are different from 68 to 69. (they will work from big block to big block) but small block suction lines are different and will have to be found or purchased new.
