Hey Guys,

I have a 1969 Charger RT/SE and am getting ready to have the front and back windshields put in, and I have a question about the rear window sealant. Does it just go in with butyl rubber gasket, or does it get urethaned in like the front glass? The butyl rubber option seems kind of the less permanent option and I don't necessarily know if I trust it all that well, but I guess the trim will help keep it in place I spose. Basically Butyl Rubber Gasket vs. Uerthane installation?

Thanks for the help!

The front windshield used a preformed gasket and on the rear window was butyl rubber that comes in a roll (no gasket on the rear window) I can't remember if you use 5/16 or 3/8 size.

The 3M 5/16" is the correct seal for the rear, but the better option if you want is to
use the 3M Urethane calk. It's what newer cars use, and holds better, but I can't do
it myself because I'm not that experienced! Yes, the moldings will keep the window
from coming out!

I used 5/16" Butyl - remember that the glass usually has small rubber blocks placed in the window channel for it to rest on and "center" when being installed...
