anyone using the Hughes 24-20, 2000 stall converter. wondering how the stall was. thanks

Looks like you stumped everyone. A question nobody can answer or has an opinion about. That doesn't happen often here. I have no opinion about any TC and don't even know what's in my car. Good luck, hope someone chimes in and can help.

Sorry. Mine is a 4000 stall in a 10 sec Duster. Works well. But that's because I want full engagement at higher RPM. Would not be ideal for street only use. (But does work ok for limited street duties.) A 2000 would be about right for street only. I would go higher for a street/strip performance build?

Hughes is a good quality converter for the buck. 2400 is the lowest from hughes we have used. As far as the lower cost converters...Hughes is my preference. When the budget allows we have been upgrading to custom tight performance converters like dynamic or ptc. Flashes high but cruises like stock.

I can not speak to the Hughes converter for a Chrysler product. My Cordoba is currently all stock. I do have a Hughes GM20 behind the 400 small block in my Corvette. The GM20 is a 2000 stall like the 24-20. I love the one I have. It is about 500rpm or just a tad higher over stock and locks up tight when it does.

i guess we will find out this spring when it goes in. talked with Hughes a little and they said the fins are negative bent not sure i like that, as long it is tight when cruising i won't care. told them pact would make me a 2200 with straight fins, they said at 30-40 mph it will flash up for a second, maybe because of the stator they would use with the straight fin. still have time to get the 2200 one.

that's good to hear it locks up, what year corvette ?

'86 with a th350 transmission. the 400 has a small cam. 276 roller hydraulic. 3.07 rear gear. when I am cruising around town it feels almost stock.

any ideal about the old converter size, stall ?

We have one behind a 440 in a Jensen Interceptor. works very well, stall flashes to about 2400rpm, cruise is very tight.
Would recommend.

No I don’t. It was originally a 4+3 car
