Hey all,

I am not sure this is the right location for the temp sensor. Can someone verify this?

No. It does go in the water pump housing, but it screws in the on the passenger side "back into" the housing, not "down into" the housing

1958 thru 1966 is shown in the photo. 1967 up it goes on the other side and screws in from the front.

The change was for the 1967 model year. They also changed th bolt body for the alternator bracket. So the bracket changed for the non A/C cars. That's when the triangle bracket got the circle in the center of it, and that's where the temp sender is.

The negative battery cable is definitely incorrect.
It will work but it's unorthodox.

This is the other housing. Judging from the part number it looks like it started in 67. I guess by that casting date it must be for a 69 car.

I don't see a plug on the pass side front on the water jacket housing. This is a 67 block (I think... that's what I was told) but I must have the wrong water pump casting.

Yes, it in the right location for your housing. You didn't say what year car you have. But it wouldn't matter if that's the only housing you have.

Your housing looks like it started in 62. That's the one I use for everything. It doesn't have the extra boss in the front.

Sorry... 1966 Dodge Charger. I have had it since I was 16 and just finished a full restore on it. It had a 318 in it but it always seemed anemic so when I decided to rebuild it, I wanted to go with a 383. Proved hard to find for the money I could afford so I looked for a 440. For the Charger, the 440 was released in 67 so that's what I looked for. Figured it was close enough.

You probably aren't into being totally correct so you can run the pump you have.

Post # 1 is early housing and Post # 2 is later housing. They changed somewhere around 1967. A later housing yet, puts the inlet fitting from the water pump on the passenger side. This works well for putting a Big Block in where a small block used to be.

You mean like in matching numbers and all? Yea... not totally. I did install HP exhaust manifolds, but the radiator is aluminum. However, I kept the bumper sticker security pass for the Airforce Base I was stationed at in the 80's. :)
