So took my car for a test drive.. heard a belt squealing which it has never done and notice the amp gauge is pegged.. made it back home without the battery exploding (had that happen once) yanked the NOS mechical regulator i had put on and put the stock 62 ok.. charges perfect but has a slight issue of letting out a lot of smoke.. so it's almost dead but good for the test..
I saw there are SS regulators that look stock also read that some do 16v instead of 13-14.. I am mainly posting to see if anyone has a link to one that work properly? or they trust that has worked for them?
alt is new and don't want to change it.. or cut any wires if i can help it.. none cut in 63 years.. wanna try to keep it that way
