If I shift to neutral and let the trans pump run, the car moves fine, but if I leave it in park while I warm up the engine, the car wont move until I rev it up a bit. After the transmission warms up, it's fine the rest of the day.
Seriously, I did mention that already. Problem not solved, but thanks.Start it and warm it up in neutral. Problem
If you get better results in neutral there's no need to warm it up in park.if I leave it in park while I warm up the engine, the car wont move until I rev it up
The pump is spinning anytime the engine is running.Converter drains back into the trans. In Park it doesn't pump fluid, put it in N for at least 10 seconds. Before driving.
This is normal operation.
Thanks MikeTransgo makes a different manual valve that allows the converter to fill in park position.

Can one assume that if these cars were used daily, like years back when they were "just" cars, that this wouldn't happen?
True, but the hydraulic circuit route is different in park. The pump is spinning anytime the engine is running.
Yes, but the pressure goes from 5psi in Park to 55psi in Neutral. That's why you check fluid in Neutral, when it's actually being pumped. The pump is spinning anytime the engine is running.
