View attachment 1868865

Beautiful view! But what was wrong with your fender tag if I may ask?

Just a hundred fifty feet from my driveway an hour ago. Driver says that he dropped his cell phone and looked down just as there was a slight left curve in the road. He’s ok.

That car is currently for sale on Ebay.

A local Craigslist ad for this 69 Sport Fury describes this as a 440. Can someone identify it? 318LA?
View attachment 1875765

Definitely NOT a 440, you gotta look at the balancer to tell the difference. I don’t know but my guess would be 318

Old gun rack installed today. Temporarily had a plastic one tell I could locate a vintage one. View attachment 1877568

I met the guy who owns this car, his name is Tom. A friend knows him. Also parked next to him a couple of years ago in 2023 at the Middlesex Diner….

The article asks the question, but gives no answer.
The key point here was that both the original owners and their direct predecessors were active in the classic car market at that time. That translated into demand and growing valuations for the best of the best muscle cars—and strong money for the rest—and it set that segment of the market up for a long run of success. Now that we've exploited the market to its limits, the next guys are struggling to come up with the money needed to buy them. We expect them to buy what we got on the cheap and bitch when they can't come to the table. Few here bought high, like we expect them to do. Many here could never take their place at the table now. They'll be a lull in the market till they catch up, was the point

In my opinion, most will never be able to buy in and if they do, it will be later in life after saving for their retirement, I'll be dead by then.

Nothing wrong with fendertag. When Graveyard Carz picked up my car I took the fendertag off as a precaution . When it got to Oregon safely my buddy brought it and the wiper motor which i was having restored out to Mark . My buddy was on a cross country trek with one of our other buddies

My thoughts exactly. I could only dream of owning one when they were new. Waited a decade, and got in cheap, and enjoyed them on the cheap before they got expensive. Then took a couple decades off while I dealt with the costs of raising a family and building a retirement nest egg. Came full circle and finished off with several restored cars bought at prices that would have made me dizzy in my younger days. All but one have since been sold off.

The circle may continue after we're gone, but as Hey-O wisely observes, it won't matter to us at that point.
