I'd mentioned the Boeing 720 in the past, a shortened 707 with speedy performance. Who Likes Aircraft ?
While touring the National Air Force Museum last week (Trenton Air Force Base, Ontario, Canada) I came across the last 720 that ever flew - it was the Pratt & Whitney flying test bed for engines. Its final flight was in 2012.
One more from the museum...a very early example of swept wings. The Dunne D.8 was purchased by the Canadian Aviation Corps, a precursor the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1914. This recreation is in the museum. Noted not only for the swept wings, it is also a pusher design, is a float plane and has no tail. Dunne D.8 - Wikipedia
Pretty cool when the Snowbird team does a, 9 bird formation, 4 leaf clover over my Irish Field on their area familiarization flight for tomorrow night's display.
BTW... had planned to fly home tomorrow, but now I can't as the airspace is NOTAM'd closed. Truck it is, I'll grab the Lund's boat trailer while there.
