Huffing and puffing, the Freedom Train pulled into the White River Junction, Vt., station on Sunday, April 13, 1975, in front of a shivering crowd which jammed the station platform for a glimpse of the nation's 22-car, steam-pulled train. It was a refueling stop and exhibition was not opened to the public, but for steam train buffs, seeing the iron monster was reward enough. (Valley News - Larry McDonald)
