Fan belt rant

All of these belts that all of you are having problems with are not the correct width belts. The belt is supposed to be flush with the top edges of the pulleys. I know-that's all you can find. All of the Mopars and GM's back in the day used the narrow 13 series belts with a few 17 series for the single AC belts.

Not true in my case.

In one of the many parts stashes that I took in over the years, in one of them was a factory-ish alternator belt adjustment tool like that. It works quite well.
I ordered one. No more guessing and burning up bearings by overtightening belts.

My power steering belts on my 66/67 are supposed to be 17-series belts. Fan, and double AC belts on the 67 are supposed to be 15-series.
