Hi.
My brother have 1968 fury with MSD atomic efi system. Now it wont start and hand held controller says: ERROR cannot communicate with atomic efi.

We have checked wires from powermodule to ecu. Now we have new ecu and powermodule and still same error. Whats next?

Maybe call their tech support and tell them what you have happening. I have a Sniper 2 and so far it has been great. I am not sure if the MSD system has a reset procedure, sometimes you can basically erase the memory and reset. Do you have the information manual or instructions?

Is it the first gen Atomic EFI? Thats what I have on a Chevy.
There is a reset option, I forget exactly what it’s called and I can’t go look right now.
That error does sound like a connection was severed or the ECU fried.

My Atomic has been pretty trouble free. But if his ecu is fried and an older generation it may not be worth trying to find a replacement.

I contacted technical support. They advised that the fault is in the power module, the ECU or the wiring between them. The wiring was checked, after this a new power module was ordered and now a new ECU. The fault does not go away

yes, first generation. Now it has a new power module and ECU.

My first thought is that there is a problem with the handheld.
You do have power on the correct wires?

Probably not a handheld issue, because the car stalled while driving on the motorway and has not started since.

If I had a nickel for every complaint about aftermarket throttle body EFI I'd be able to eat steak once per week.

I've tried Holley Sniper and found it not worth the time and money.

Good luck with yours, though.

That model will run with the handheld unplugged, so it shouldn't be the problem unless it has a short affecting other things. If you didn't already, try unplugging the handheld before starting.
Also do you hear the fuel pump prime when you key on? I'm assuming you have also tried disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it.
When you say you checked the wires, did you get a meter and do a continuity check?
If I find a digital copy of the installation guide with the trouble shooting section I'll update here.
EDIT: Found it. Ok so if you don't have the manual, its only like 30 pages and I can send it. Private message me your email if you need it.

Tried without handheld and battery disconnected. Fuel pump does not turn on with power on. Wires were measured with multimeter.
