Pulling my hair out over rocker arms for my 426 Hemi. I just haven't found the right place. Stock rockers, need to have the tips resurfaced, bushings are alright in my opinion. Would or can go to a roller rockers, but that is more of a can of worms than where I am at. Street car, 4-speed. Planned on hydraulic roller, but have a solid that was in the engine. Edelbrock Jr heads. Seems like the 3 places that I have called don't have answers. Help me Batman!
 
Just found a place to resurface my stock rocker arms. Can't believe that it's local to me, 20 miles. Will see if this works out.

There has been so many 426 Hemi rocker arm questions lately. I think I've resurfaced those tips on the back of a standard Kwik-Way valve grinder. I got an e-mail from a guy in Norway this morning trying to figure out what he needed for rockers on his first Hemi build. I told him I would do a video today to try and discuss his various options.

Thank you for the video! I was warned off on the Barton rockers, just more work, not that they aren't an excellent rocker. Took my rockers off the shafts and stands tonight, they have been around the block a time or two. I have 1 intake and one exhaust that may need replacing. Pretty deep pitting. The banna shafts don't look new, but everything seems tight, I will run them. forhemisonly has a roller rocker arm, have no idea what they look like or if they are basic simple to install or complicated. They don't have a bad price, I think she said around $2450? Out of stock for 2 weeks. Those Canadian rockers for around $1,200., didn't someone say they were not lasting 1000 mi? Not going to try those, no refunds or warranty with them. Will stay with resurfacing my stock rockers for the moment. See if I need to adj my pushrod lengths, maybe Smith adj too.

I've never seen those in person but I prefer roller rockers.

i know this thread is older But has anybody Ran these roller rockers ? how did they do ? hold up ? etc....

yeah thats what i was thinking considering what they r selling them for, but looking at ebay they have sold quite a few sets....

i think if i could find a set of original hemi rocker Assembly's i would just run them with lash caps and a roller cam with these edelbrock heads...
 
I have run stock, Stage V's, DAD'S and now Barton's. Expensive but worth it.
 
I ended up with the full set of Barton rockers and his valve covers. Lot of work installing the rockers. The valve covers can get out of hand too, for my car ( tubular front suspension) something may be off, but I have to pick the passenger side of the engine up to get the valve cover off. The large valve spring relief will hit the shock tower when trying to remove it. I also made up baffles, and machined holes for stove pipes for breather and pcv valve. The baffles hit the rocker pedestal studs, not a difficult correction. Finally, use his valve cover gaskets or your spark plug tubes will be off.
Through pushrod oiling is best, but the lifter bores should be bushed. Mine are not, so I had to go with his other oiling option.
 
i ended up going with the indy rollers...bought there entire rocker arm assemblys which they had in stock. a direct bolt on for my edelbrock heads. i used them appx 20 years ago with a hemi i shouldnt have sold with good success....i will set it for pushrod oiling..

Indy offers a rocker cover that has a shock tower relief cast into the passenger side. I can remove my passenger side with no issues. I also have a tubular K-frame. It's hard to see, but if you look close you can see then indentation.

That relief is a great idea i had to re work my passenger tower wish i had known. Years ago indy rockers where not what i would have picked the stage V where considered top of the line hipefully indy has improved

Barton rockers are bullet proof
