A friend mine sent me an article about Chris Cornell (AudioSlave) with his '76 Pontiac Can Am. He knows I'm into Grand Ams, a very similar car. In fact I'm thinking abot cloning one out of the three I have.

Im sure you guys have seen their video, Show Me How To Live. Featuring a '70 Challenger. The mixed some old footage with new. I really liked their music I wish Chris hadn't killed himself. Lyrics below the video. I'm not going to judge his pain. He suffering, it's apparent from the lyrics in this song.

[Verse 1]
And with the early dawn moving right along
I couldn't buy an eyeful of sleep
And in the aching night under satellites
I was not received
Built with stolen parts, a telephone in my heart
Someone get me a priest
To put my mind to bed, this ringing in my head
Is this a cure or is this a disease?

[Chorus]
Nail in my head from my creator
You gave me life, now show me how to live
Nail in my head from my creator
You gave me life, now show me how to live

[Verse 2]
And in the after birth on the quiet earth
Let the stains remind you
You thought you made a man, you better think again
Before my role defines you

[Chorus]
Nail in my head from my creator
You gave me life, now show me how to live
Nail in my head from my creator
You gave me life, now show me how to live

[Bridge]
And in your waiting hands, I will land
And roll out of my skin
And in your final hours, I will stand
Ready to begin
Ready to begin
Ready to begin
Ready to begin

[Chorus]
Nail in my head from my creator
You gave me life, now show me how to live
Nail in my head from my creator
You gave me life, now show me how to live

[Outro]
Show me how to live
Show me how to live
Show me how to live
Show me how to live

True fact: He was in my high school class though he dropped out in 10th grade. Frankly, I don't remember him. I don't think he was there very much.... but then again neither was I

I have been following him since the early Soundgarden Days when they used to plaster every light pole in town with their posters. His lyrics are quite dark, but he was a helluva song writer. Audioslave was an incredible super-group too. It really brought my appreciate of Tom Morelo as a guitar player to another level.

A friend of mine has two 77 Pontiac Can Ams. One is restored stock (they were all white). He did the other original Can Am as a resto mod in black (with gold stripes and Trans Am fender scoops).

He was a great talent, I was a huge sound garden fan as a teenager in the early 90s. The black hole sun video and the Barbie melting is iconic.

Please tell your friend some guy on a Mopar site thinks his cars are spectacular !

The video shows he was into E-bodies.
The lyrics show he was into working on B-bodies too

His death by suicide was questionable.

There are conspiracy theories.

IMO Audioslave was less than the sum of its parts, neither being as good as Soundgarden or Rage Against the Machine. I read an interview with Chris where he said he felt like he was doing most of the work, so he went off and made his solo albums instead. I've got a couple of them, and can't remember a thing about them other than that he covered "Billie Jean" and that was weird. I was a fan of Soundgarden when he was with them though. "The Day I Tried to Live" is an under-rated gem.

Chris can battle it out with Layne Staley in heaven. I can't knock Chris Cornell's technical ability, but IMO Layne had a more attractive voice. Which is a weird thing to say about another man's voice, but I don't know the technical terms to describe what I mean.

Then there's this guy -

I'm not a big fan of Audioslave, but I loves me some Soundgarden.

"Metal" by any other name... when metal wasn't cool.

I dig the Can Am. I have always thought they were one of the best looking Pontiac built
