I have a 46RH in my 69 Road Runner. It was rebuilt a couple years ago. It works great, ecxept at full throttle. At WOT it wants to rev well over 6000 and wont upshift. I have adjusted the kick down cable, Bouchillon, to get my street driving shift points reasonable. If I adjust the cable to shift sooner at WOT, 2nd and 3rd come right in before 10 mph. I had a thread on this a while back, but did not do anything with it except not going WOT.

First, is it possible to increase line pressure? Will that even help my problem?

How can I test line pressure? How to adjust it?

It looks like I am taking this car to Duct Tape Drags next weekend since I still dont have the heads for the 73 back from the machine shop. I need to get this fixed.

Do you have the FSM for the car? it will tell you what you ask.

Seems decreasing line pressure is the thing. There are other adjustments on the valve body to help this.
