What did you do today....other than work on your car!?

Went 100 miles up the highway to the Chico, California Pick-N-Pull wrecking yard.
Took a 74 Valiant apart, all disc brake wise, and upper and lower control arms, and sway bar, and brought everything home.
Nice drive up and back the, Highway 99.

Nice.

I just bought a 75 Dart brake package for my 67 Belvedere wagon.

Driving a Peterbilt while trying to get a new job as a motor coach driver... you think at 76 I would know better

Had some paint time with Harold the Eagle.

He started out as an unpainted stone garden statue. Didn't get any pics of him completely raw.

Best I could do...

Yesterday afternoon I had a photo shoot with my’58 Apache. If it makes the cut it will be on a well known national parts manufacturer’s promotional calendar. Sarah the photographer shot over 800 pictures over the course of 4 hours. It was an interesting experience…

...and suddenly the photographer found herself the subject.

Nice curves.

Finally installed the last drawer front.

Bye, bye 1980's photo grain, and privacy fence gate pulls.

and drinking beer. Saw my new neighbor up on a tall (14'?) step ladder standing on the very top of it trying to hang a swing in a tree. Told him he could borrow my 28' extension ladder and he declined....at first. About 10 minutes later he came asking for it lol. Other than that, I washed my 'new' 96 Dakota and have been cleaning up the shop.....and drinking beer :D

replaced one of the furnaces , second time for that . Took 17 hrs hard at it , was supposed to be exact fit , "no way" , had to modify a bunch of stuff to make it work ., and changed the whole flue set up .
My 79 yr old *** ain't quite recovered yet , but better today ...

I thought drawer fronts the grain was supposed to be horizontal?

Everything was vertical grain in that kitchen.

It actually looked good and was in good shape.

...except those gate handles.

It does look cleaner and more modern now.

Yup, it does look more modern and cleaner. The vertical grain on a drawer front just doesn't do it for me especially being from a family of home builders and cabinet makers lol

A couple weeks ago I built a little 8' X 8' Shed roof off a shed at church to put the lawn tractor beneath.
1 guy , 1 day. I enjoy building stuff:

Getting the drawer fronts off was fun.

They were power stapled under the formica.

Had to take them out on the back porch, turn them upside down, and carefully pry starting with a putty knife, then a "booger picker", then a wood chisel and finally a small pry bar.
Took about 25 hammer taps per drawer.
Tap too hard or too fast, the the particle board with crack or fracture.
