Today was my day. Was moving a water sprinkler and the cheap 2 dollar hose was cold and didn't want to follow me too well and I stepped on it while moving and down I went. Bad thing was I was walking across the driveway. Banged up my right knee and elbow and just bumped my head a bit. Broke the skin on my knee and elbow and got some 'driveway' rash on my hands when I half way landed on them. Other than that, I'm good but made me think about being even more careful where I put my feet!
 
I’ve done similar. But the bump did not knock any sense into me as you can tell. Ground comes up fast huh?

I've had no falls since I retired from bulk tanker work, and started using forearm crutches pretty much full time. When I was around the trailers, I never had a problem up high, it was always on the last step down, and hitting slippery or uneven ground. The fringe benefit of the crutches is I'm just as stable when drinking.
 
I wasn't even drinking, but about 2 weeks ago, I was standing on a chair to get something up high, and as I was leaning to step down off the chair, the chair-back side of the chair tipped away from me. I mostly saved it by leaning forward and grabbing the chair-back and wall, but the metal chair-back smacked into my left middle chest, bruising my ribs there, and my left shin scraped down the seat part of the chair. I didn't fall over but it knocked the wind out of me, I had pain breathing in deeply for a week and a half and barking the shin left some pretty unsightly scabs that finally fell off a day or two ago.
 
Not too long ago, I was moving furniture with my son. I'm moving backward and tripped backward, falling hard flat on my ***. Since I've been told that's where my brains are, good news all is OK !

I used to work as a Framer walking a 2 x 4 top plate with a 8 foot fall on one side, and 4 stories on the other. Now I get vertigo standing up.
 
I had a couple of falls from a ladder beginning about five years ago. Did ladder work for 45 years as an electrician and couldn’t believe it when it happened. So I took it as a sign and put my ladder work behind me. It’s sucks though when you still feel like you can do it.
 
Did I tell you about the time my dog put his football at the bottom of my stepladder

Judging by the title of this thread, it’s obvious that adult beverages were involved at some point.

About a week ago, I was walking my dog over to a big ol' hole he had dug,
to discipline him a bit, hole was in the middle of the back yard
just off my back deck, road base gravel,
I don't know how he could dig in it & not wear his claws down to nubs
I was gonna' shove his face in the whole & yell at him
didn't work out too well for me...

He can be a digging SOB, he knows he's not supposed to either

Anyway, he got wise what was going on & turned around quick,
I went head over heals, got my middle 'FU finger' stuck in his choker chain collar
& he drug me for about 8-10 feet across the gravel, not really on purpose
running away from me falling, he's smarter then I was

would have been a great video if someone got it

a lil' gravel rash on my left knee & leg, left shoulder, mostly just lil' scrapes
healed pretty quickly already, just put Hydrogen peroxide on it

if I'm out there & anywhere near that spot, the dog runs away now
assumes; I'll fall on him again, I'd guess

I was pretty lucky/fortunate all them years in construction
& framing or plumbing especially
that I never really had a bad fall, some real heights too, on ladders
& I loved walking top-plate, ceiling joist or rafters 'High Man'
I did had/have a nice cut doing stupid **** pulling a utility knife-box cutter/sheetrock blade
towards myself & I slipped, I cut the crap out my left palm, like 10 stiches latter

no alcohol involved yet'

Glad you weren't injured any worse than you were...
My brother recently had a similar incident with his dog... It didn't end well... Two broken fingers, orthopedic surgery...

Well this is a minor one, and kind of funny. Chewy had just delivered my usual big order on the front porch and it was misting outside, so I rush to get the boxes in. Now my back has been worse lately with spasms out of nowhere so I figured to make it easy on my back do a deep squat while lifting a 50lbs box onto another.
This all happens in an instant but in my head I had time to process and decide what to do, as I lift I feel my slightly wet flip flops sliding forward, I do the math, my butt is a couple of inches from the ground since I’m squatting, I’ll land on it and maybe roll on my back, no big deal.
The problem was this is in front of an opened door, I fall, rollback and hit the door and BAM. I get up and look and see a hole in the wall I can almost stick my head thru. Those plastic discs to protect the wall from a door knob can actually just give the knob a bigger footprint for damage. It also snapped in half, I was pretty pissed but also amused.
Another amusing thing is I patched around that area 25 years ago when I moved in, it was a rush job and everyone thought I did a beautiful job, but I always thought I could have done better if I wasn’t rushed. Right after the fall I was laid off so today was the day I finally got to it, this time I can take my time and do a nicer job.
