Just put the left front fender on to test fit (door still needs to go forward) and put in the steering column this week.

Thanks 64BEL and Cranky, for your help. I wasn't able to get the Atlanta car. He did say OBO, but he wanted it all upfront. I could have worked with him if he would have accepted $500 down, or even $1,000. Anyhow, I've found one here in Carroll County, and the owner is willing to work with me. I will be getting it in February. It doesn't run but is complete and unwrecked. There is a bit of rust, though, in the quarters, and a fairly big dent in the right front door. Fine by me! It'll make a great "sleeper". :)

Rusty 69 Roadrunner

Been working on this lately, got on trade. Everytime I work on something I find more rust. Getting close to bodywork now after over 40 hours of just welding. At least the engine is ready to go. Wasnt the worst rust bucket Ive seen, the front half seems solid. I found you can find cheap parts if you hunt hard and talk to people. Theres alot of hoarders around me starting to loosen up on getting rid of parts lol.

Been spending the past few days fixing a fuel tank leak, repacking bearings, adjusting drum brakes(disc's on the front in the next few months) and new back tires on the belvedere.... New headlights, grille and K&N intake on the magnum and next on the list is king pins and steering box on my 49 plymouth business coupe... gotta find a pic of that one, will post later.

Here's a pic of my 49.... all original other then wheels, 12v electric bucket seats (The cars still 6v :confused: .... what was the last owner smoking?? lol) and the flat black paint and stripes... the old girl runs like a top but handles like a wheel barrow! just scored a free 360, 727 and 8 3/4 for it... may put that in while I save my pennies to build the 354 hemi and 4 speed I have for it.

1967 Satellite; 440. It was quite a "barn" type find, sat in storage 25 years. As soon as I started driving it everything started breaking, but it looks pretty reasonable in factory Spinnaker White paint and the interior is in surprisingly good shape (of course the seams are starting to go).

Driving it around right after buying it.

Finally got the front suspension, steering and disc brake conversion done. I don't remember the last one taking this long but had lots of little problems with parts.Remember when back in the old days you could go to your local independent auto parts store and throw your parts on the counter and some car nut would go to the back and come out with whatever you needed? Well them days are long gone. The Auto Zones and Advanced Auto Parts have run those guys out of business and stock their stores with generic trash parts and clowns who don't have a clue. If it ain't for a modern car they won't have it. Anyway I will be headed to the old guy who still has managed to stay in business by doing front end alignments with his old school equipment sometime next week, then time to get the cars cleaned up for Carlisle.
 
I am working on a few home car projects.
The worst one is my '67 Satellite with a 1966 poly 318.
I replaced the main journal and rod bearings with .10 and .20 over. as well as a Mellings high volume oil pump.
I primed the engine oil galleries up with oil and saw a poor 60 psi.with 20W 50 engine oil.
Everything is getting oiled. but my gut is telling me, I am going to have to pull the engine and replace the cam bearings....UUGGHHH!
I also am rebuilding my 392 hemi-head for my '57 Imperial, replacing the coil springs and waterpump on my wife's '60 Buick, as well as replacing the dampener on my '60 Imperial...
Do you think I'm busy enough? :walk:
 
Checked and topped off the oil in the rear end. Added some fluid to the tranny. Cleaned off some of the dust under the car from being in body shop.:angryfire:
 
Repairing my 426 Wedge

INDY heads are great horsepower and torque makers but they are murder to work on and the customer support at INDY is abysmal.

A roller rocker broke, a push rod bent and I need to replace these and inspect the lifter and cam to ensure there was no other damage. This should be a simple task but the INDY heads really complicate the process.

What rockers do they use? So I can replace the broken one and the damaged one.
What gaskets do they use? Intake manifold especially.

Try getting these answers from INDY.
