The '66-'67 caps look like these (9")
In my opinion the cop wheels you have on the front don't look right for your year car. Summit has the Wheel Vintiques that look factory but only take the 9" caps.
If you have the wheel mounted with a couple of nuts how much stud is showing where there isn't a nut? Down in the hole a little, flush with the hole or out of the hole? Then run a nut on the stud without a washer and see if it bottoms out before making contact with the wheel. If it does how much...
Mine is a '62. Looks like 7" width would be the next size down. The 275 tire recommendation is for a 7.5 to 9.5 wheel width. There might be a 7.5 width wheel out there but I don't know where. Maybe factory wheels? I think the 275 looks good on the 8" wide rim. The inflated tire width is around 10"
You can't see it in my pictures too good. The clearance between the tire and the front portion of the leaf spring was about 1/8". Almost touching a spring clamp.
This was my eye balling...
8" width 4 1/2" back spacing. Looks like all kinds of room.
Mounted 275/60/15 Coopers. Too tight to the leaf springs.
After using 1/4" spacers. Should have used 4 1/4" back space.
It looked like the 4 1/2" back spacing was going to work before I mounted the...
Maybe check FB Market Place or Craigslist.
My 03 is 4WD. I didn't realize they went to AWD. That makes it crucial to have all four tires exactly the same. Even same wear condition.
Mine...
If the center hole doesn't fit over the center of the axle flange, gets stuck, then that might be your problem. If it does go on without any interference then the center of the wheel is probably bent. Send it back. Most won't take them back if they have been painted.
I had a set of wheels made...
You won't find a matching set of four caps with those wheels. You can find the newer wheels for the rear that uses the smaller cap like on the front. '66 on up. Or find the older wheels for the front and use the 10" caps. The rear wheels you have now might be an oddball just by a little that...
I had a hard time finding the right studs. I needed a 1/2 x 20 thread, .625 diameter knurl, 1/2" long knurl. I found a couple listed here and there but they weren't available. So I got the next best thing and machined them to size.
Some of the studs fit tight, some went in tight but were...
