I love eastwood. I painted the engine in the roadrunner with it and it still looks great 6 years later. Did my hemi with it as well. I shot both with a gun.
This stuff works great on old acrylic enamel. Sounds like you need to hit it with rubbing compound first. That’s providing there’s anything there to bring up.
paint was applied to the exposed pillar, i actually pulled mine off cuz i personally like the bare look better. if you pull yours off it will be body color underneath.
base clear will probably be the easiest. if i were you i'd paint the car in sections unless you have a ventilated spray booth to use. i tried doing my RR in one shot in the garage and the over spray got ridiculous. ended up having to re clear most of it.
i have an eastwood kit that i use for small parts, brackets, pullys, valve covers, and intake manifolds. works great, easy to clean. i also have a dedicated oven. wouldn't even think about doing it in the house.
