Does anyone know if they make a cap to cover the the speedometer side of the Trans?
My Speedo is broken and makes alot of noise. Until I get it taken out I want to disconnect the speedo cable at the trans and cap it.
I just had the 4th clutch installed in 2 years. Each time after about a month the clutch starts to slip and it gets to the point where I have to change it, at first we just changed the disc, then starting changing the pressure plate, throwout bearing, disc, ect. but end up with the same results...
Installed the new Hurst shifter and once in found out when put into first or 3rd the handle hits the dash, so something is wrong. On Hurst's website it says it says it fits 69 console cars. I didn't expect the new handle to be exactly like the old one, but its not the same. You can see in the...
I installed a new MSD ready to run distributor and a NEW rally tach. My body guy has concerns that since I am not using the stock distributor, that the New tach will not work or get fried. We are thinks we need to find the wire from the dash harness that normally goes to the tack and splice in a...
I am putting the black Mopar Performance valve covers on the 440 (69) and I have been trying to find how to attach the Chrome Breather on these covers. The passenger side looks like I have to put a grommet in the hole to fit the PVC valve. Normally on the drivers side with stock valve covers you...
I have both of these, from what I can see, the "bigger" one is for a 70 b-body but will take a 69 A833. The smaller of the 2 is for a 69 A833, but it looks like part that goes on top is missing? not sure it is complete and ready to use. Can anyone confirm that?
Just went to start ordering parts for the 440. When I went to get the flywheel, I am finding out that a 74 cast crank does do have a deep enough hole to accept the input shaft for a 4 speed trans. The engine came out of a truck with an auto trans. Can a machine shop drill into a crank to get it...
Starting the rebuild of my 440,( 30 over) my engine builder wants me to buy floating pistons and not press fit ones, which leaves a narrow choice. He hates KB pistons, so the only ones left with 5/64 rings is ICON ( which KB owns) other wise all of the pistons have 1/16 rings for racing. I...
Well, I'm getting ready to buy the parts for the 440 that was given to me. Its a 1976 from a truck that has not been bored yet, so we are going to go 30 over. Going to buy sealed power flat tops. I have 516 heads, where as everyone keeps taking about 915 heads. I had the 516's on my other 440...
I have been reading online that alot of people are having a "bog" or hesitation problem with Edelbrock Carbs. I have a rebuilt (for the 3rd time, the guy that did it before really did a bad job...twice) 1969 440 and it runs REALLY stong NOW, but if you mash the pedal from start or slow speed, it...
I have a friend that just had his 69 440hp rebuilt to stock specs, but bored .030 over.
1st the engine runs hot, on the highway about 215, on side streets 200, we have put 3 different thermostats in 160, 180, and 195, all with about the same results, he went from a 2 row (from the factory) to a...
Just got the engine back from the build shop. Had it on the dyno and got the 480lbs of tourqe, but only 340HP. He does not like Edelbrock carbs, so he put his Holly on my engine and worked with the timing and got it to around 375HP. He feels the holly made the difference, but I think the timing...
OK, lets play the price is right. How much would you think it costs to rebuild a 69 440.

New valve springs
bearnings
rings
all new seals
