1972 Dodge Charger SE, Six Pack question

Don’t freak out. I used to have a six pack air cleaner that was cut to clear a factory a/c compressor. If you cut the “skirt” of the base all the way up to the edge of the filter in that area, it will fit. OR, as mentioned, switch to a Sanden compressor which is much smaller

Ballast Resistor on our 69 GTX - Requesting Feedback

It has resistance, so it’s good….but still carry a spare in your trunk. Someone else might know what the specific resistance “should” be

Trick to separate steering column shaft?

You need it shorter, so maybe the inner shaft just bottomed out on something inside the upper half?

    70 GTX REAR TRIM QUESTION

Double check your clips. They should fit. There are more than 2 holes along the trunk for the trim

I don’t think plum crazy was available until 1970

    Six pack scoop help

The aftermarket scoop you're looking at is 4-1/4" tall....it's only the opening that's 3-1/2". The six pack scoop looks "cool", but per your scoop rules & for the purpose of cooling the engine, a very tall cowl induction type scoop (hole facing the windshield) would be best IMO.

    Brake Booster/MC Replacement Q’s

I’ve seen 3 different, power front disc brake, mater cylinders for 1970 Plymouth Road Runners. All 3 look about the same depth, but one is more narrow than the other two. The “wider” ones (2) are shown in the 1970 master cylinder video. As the video describes it, my car came with the wider...

    Brake Booster/MC Replacement Q’s

I used this from Pirate Jack’s and have had good luck with it. My ‘70 came power front disc originally & I used this booster when the original one started leaking. I had to open up the firewall hole about 1mm (the Pirate Jack one has a slightly larger diameter than the original) and I think I...

Question for you convertible guys with resto experience

Yes. All there was originally is some thin (1/8” or so) foam with adhesive on the body side only (no adhesive facing the trim)

    1970 steering column

Your column has collapsed. Slide out the inner section, drill/tap a 1/8” hole through both inner/outer sections & run a plastic bolt (plumbing supply hardware) and trim off excess on both sides…done

1973 Dodge Coronet Front Breaks Question

Keep in mind that there’s a Left & a Right caliper. It’s possible to install them on the wrong side & then the flexible hose is kinked (fyi)

    68 Coronet 2-dr door won't open

Push IN on the door firmly to see if the latch turns slightly, then open normally? Otherwise, I think you’ll need some type of “slim jim” to open the lock like a 1970’s car thief

    New radiator question

I spent several years developing antifreeze formulas for Peak, Prestone, etc. Tap water makes your radiator corrode faster. Well water is the worst. Distilled, deionized or RO (reverse osmosis) water only cost $1/gallon. Use good water

    What is my ignition problem?

Update - it was a loose wire at one of the “multi-plugs” at the bottom of the steering column. I pushed the wires in on both sides of each plug and problem solved

MP Distributor - Magnetic Pickup Replacement?

I've got a 440 in a 70 Road Runner which I converted to electronic ignition. It has the Mopar Performance distributor (& MSD box, no ballast resistor). I had a minor (thank God!) engine fire that melted the distributor pickup wires and plug. I need to replace the ignition pickup inside the...
