I have a 440 source 500 ci rotating assembly with dished pistons. Can I run another brand piston on these 440 source rods or do I am I limited to 440 source? Thank you
installed a proportioning cable to accommodate front disc rear drum. Finally got everything buttoned up and during the bleed process I have a leak in the front of the P valve.
Why would it leak in this location?
I posted a couple days ago about fuel leaking down my fender on my 67 B Body.
I had a chance to take it apart and see what’s up. It turns out the gasket behind the fuel door was cracked in several places and it fell apart.
Any idea where I can get one or has anyone fabricated one?
Thanks
500 low deck stroker from 440 source and I would like some advice on what to run. A balancer or a damper?
I currently have a fluid damper on there, but I always get sound advice from this site.
Thank you
Where can I get the key ignition switch? 67B Body.
I don’t need authentic I just want it to work.
I replaced the relay on the firewall and when I hook the battery up the motor cranks.
Putting my stroker back together after a trip to the machine shop. I broke the oil pick up off in the block.
How much clearance do I need between the crankshaft assembly and the oil pickup.? The base of the new oil pickup is thicker than the one I broke, so I’ll need to grind some clearance...
Putting a stroker together and I want to know if anyone out there has had to adjust the bends in the oil pickup to clear the windage tray and make oil pan clearance
Hello,
I have a 500ci B Block and my oil pick up came loose. The threads on the pipe don’t exactly line up to position it correctly.
Any suggestions on how to get it set in position and keep it in place?
Thank you
I built a 500 stroker B Block over the summer. I made some mistakes and had to yank the motor out to fix the rear main seal because it leaked.
Found out the #7 rod bearing was toast and my mains were wearing odd. I should have purchased the chamfered bearings. (I received bad advice) ((Lesson...
Hello,
I ended up disassembling my 500 stroker to replace the rear main seal. (I got heave handed with sealer and I couldn’t get the upper to come free and push out). The motor only has a couple hundred miles on it.
I found out my #7 rod bearing is toast and I have odd wear on my mains too...
I’m doing my homework to rebuild my 727 and I was reading a thread about and the author suggested using a 3.8 band lever over the stock one.
I’m not exactly sure what or why a 3.8 lever would be better over stock.
can someone enlighten me?
my plan is to run CRT race rebuild kit, a deep...
Going to rebuild my 727 and I have seen several videos with a mount that goes into a rotating engine stand. I have looked on the interwebs and I’m not getting anywhere
All the stuff I found on Summit/Jegs is for GM and it’s not rotating
Does anyone know where I can find one?
Hello,
Just did a 500 stroker with hydraulic roller lifters, cam, and rockers.
How long should I run the first oil before I change it?
35 years ago we would run it 500 miles and change the oil but, I’m sure there have been some advances in science that say otherwise. (Always trust the...
What would cause my starter to bind up?
When I turn the key it cranks really hard like the timing is off but, it isn’t and when it’s hot it’s even worse
it’s an aftermarket high torque starter (no idea what brand because I can’t find any markings)
I’m running 440 source roller rockers on a 500ci b block build
One of the adjustable rocker arms loosened up on me. I followed 440 source advice and set the lock nut at 20 ft #
Should I use some lock tight?
Hello,
Did a 500ci B block build. The only thing left from the original motor is the block. Roller cam with hyd roller lifters, roller rockers and 440 source stealth heads.
Got it to fire up and run for about a minute and it stalled out.
(Rebuilt Holley 800 DF/DP running on electric fuel...
So I set the timing gear in and got the distributor set with the rotor pointed at #1 cylinder
when I set the cap on the distributor assembly, the rotor is pointed at #4 (inside the cap)
Am I off or do I need to adjust?
Thanks
Hello,
I am going to need a set of pushrods for a B Block 500 build. I’m running a 541/544 lift hyd roller cam and it should measure out between 7”-8” inches. (Feel free to advise if I am off on my guess)
Does anyone know where I can have a set made?
Thank you
