IMO get a good solid k frame. I went that route on my 73 RR, small block to big block. Someone before me hacked up the motor mounts and I was lucky to find a BB K frame, had it powdercoated and put all new suspension in it from Firm Feel.

Mine was toast as well and I bought a nice one from firm feel several years ago. Try Matt from firm feel they usually have a few around. Good luck

Someone in the know told me to use the screw in type (since I already have it) and as long as it was a tight fit and holding good should be fine. The threads are pretty narrow and to use a air tool on it. I was going to give it a try to see if it is basically the same size. Thanks Ralph
